Niu Bo gained notoriety in the 1980s after his first exhibition at the Beijing Fine Art Academy for their 25th anniversary. When they acquired one of his works he became the youngest artist ever to receive such honours from the respected institution. Between 1985 and 1991 he exhibited his works in Beijing and Tokyo. However, he then disappeared from publicity until 2014 when he reappeared with a trove of new works and signed with TreeArt Museum as his represenative.
